This recipe is a perfect example of traditional Czech cuisine. Adding some Vegeta Gourmet Stock Powder to this recipe will give it a new twist and different taste.

  • 400 g 1 day old bread rolls, cubed
  • 1 tab Vegeta Gourmet Stock Powder
  • 2 eggs
  • 300 ml milk
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley
  • 40 g butter
  • 2 tablespoons bread crumbs

  1. 1.
In a greased oven tray place 1 day old bread rolls, cut in cubes. Leave in the oven, on low heat, until they get golden colour.
  2. 2.
To mixed eggs add Vegeta Gourmet Stock Powder, milk, parsley and the bread cubes. Mix thoroughly and let stand for about 20 minutes.
  3. 3.
Make a roll out of the mixture.
  4. 4.
On a clean gauze (or thin kitchen towel) sprinkle the bread crumbs, put the bread roll on it and wrap the gauze tightly around.
  5. 5.
Tie each side of the gauze with some cotton thread, and cook in boiling, salted water for about 30 minutes.
  6. 6.
When cooked, strain the water, remove the gauze and cut into thick slices.

Dumplings can be served with meat in a sauce.

To reduce the preparation time, this mixture can be rolled in to small balls.
