Warm Ajvar Sandwiches

Winter gatherings, around the fireplace, accompanied with hot tea, whether in the comfort of own home or away, are always a special treat. Warm sandwiches, prepared a little different are sure to suit any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 100 g Ajvar vegetable relish mild
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp Vegeta Gourmet stock powder
  • 8 slices of bread (square shape)
  • 40 g butter
  • 4 slices cheese (Edam or Swiss)
  • 1 tsp olive oil

Preparation

  1. 1.
    In a bowl, combine Ajvar vegetable relish, oil, Vegeta Gourmet stock and mix.
  2. 2.
    Spread bread slices thinly with butter and generous amount of prepared Ajvar vegetable relish mixture.
  3. 3.
    Place slices of cheese on 4 bread slices and cover with the remaining 4.
  4. 4.
    Using a non-stick pan, heat up a teaspoon of oil on mild heat. Toast sandwiches, each side 2-3 minutes.

Serving

Serve hot. Slice the sandwiches in half, diagonally, sprinkle with parsley and serve with salad, paprika or other ideas.

Tip

Instead of bread slices alternatively use bread rolls, just toast them in sandwich maker or oven.
